Vodafone launched a new recognition programme to celebrate its employee’s achievements. The Programme is designed to reward people for their outstanding contribution and results they bring to the company’s success. The Programme has three levels of recognition: ”Vodafone Stars” is an instant award that can be made at any time for immediate recognition of the employee’s efforts and results. “Vodafone Heroes”, are the high performers who get nominated by people on a quarterly basis for their dedication, commitment and results using Vodafone’s own SMS technology, The winners are celebrated and presented with a certificate and gift voucher at the Vodafone All Hands Day. “Vodafone Global Heroes”, are the dedicated employees who get selected on an annual basis, from the pool of Vodafone Heroes across all of the Vodafone Operating Companies Globally. The Vodafone Group Executive Committee identify and recognise  approximately 25 "Global Heroes" whom are awarded a prize of their choice and invited to an International event where they have the opportunity to meet Vodafone Group CEO, Vittorio Colao and celebrate with other Global Heroes from around the world. Call Centre Manager for Vodafone Qatar, Maria McCourt was selected earlier this year as Vodafone Qatar's "Global Hero" and enjoyed a four day all expenses paid trip to the UK. The trip included a visit to Vodafone's global headquarters in London, a sight-seeing tour, a top London theatre show, a visit to the McLaren Technology Centre (home of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula One team) and more. "It’s a great way to motivate, inspire and recognise employees across all of our business. The approach is really innovative as our own employees ,as well as managers, can nominate someone for outstanding performance.. This includes not just our own employees but also people who work for our business partners and suppliers . Our employees are then actively  involved in selecting by SMS voting who they think are the overall winners,” said  Jan Mottram, HR Director for Vodafone “It's a very inclusive and transparent scheme  that helps us celebrate those people who are really making a world of difference to the business and our customers,” continued Jan Mottram.
