As part of “Better World”, Vodafone Qatar’s corporate social responsibility programme, Vodafone’s Villaggio retail store team organised a day out to plant trees at Delhi Public School in Al Wakra. The school was chosen because of its history for being a ground for many Green initiatives and conferences such as the Environment Debates and Eco Club.

Vodafone Retail Champions planted trees near the school playground and spoke to the children about the importance of protecting the environment. The day concluded with the Villaggio team handing over a plaque to the school management to mark the event.

“By carrying out a green project like this will encourage the younger generations to be more caring about the environment and take steps to preserve it. The ultimate goal is to make a world of difference for all the people and environment in Qatar,” said Kasun Delgahapitiya, Vodafone Qatar Retail champion and initiator of the tree planting initiative.

“It was just great to see our retail champions initiating and volunteering for the event – as all of them participated off their working hour. This was another way to say that Vodafone Qatar is not just another telecommunication company and we are here to make a world a better place in every way possible s,“ said Louise Catleugh, Villaggio Retail Store Manager.

“We would also like to thank Miss Mou Bera, the school Activities Coordinator for assisting us and enthusiastically involving children of the school”. Continued Louise Catleugh. Both the Delhi Public School and Villaggio Store team have committed to initiating more green projects in the future. To learn more visit Better World’s Facebook page on
