In appreciation for the role played by partners in the development of Qatar’s fastest growing mobile operator, Vodafone Qatar held the 2011 Partner Event at the Lusail International Circuit.

Attended by local, regional and global Vodafone partners who have all made a contribution to the growth of Vodafone over the past two years, the afternoon involved breakout sessions with partners eager to discuss various aspects of Vodafone's strategy with executives.  The attendees were also treated to presentations by senior Vodafone executives about the company’s strategies for 2011, the brand, the development and implementation of the Purpose Based Organisation (PBO) strategy, and updated on key areas of the business.  Spot prizes were also awarded to partners who played important roles in certain sectors of Vodafone’s business.

“Vodafone has very positive news to share on the progress of the company and the future direction we intend to take,” said John Tombleson, Acting CEO of Vodafone Qatar. “Our Partner Event was an excellent opportunity for us to share this news with partners who have made an important contribution to Vodafone's success.”

The peak of the event was the award ceremony that recognised the exceptional role that three partners played in Vodafone’s growth:

  • For consistent “outside-the-box” thinking and for developing revolutionary and creative concepts for Vodafone, New Zealand-based design firm Origami was presented with the “Most Innovative Partner” Award.
  • For making changes to improve performance by doing business more efficiently and at the same time improving quality and customer satisfaction, Alcatel-Lucent was given the “Business Performance” Award.
  • For innovative thinking, passion, and for high-quality services that exceed Vodafone’s expectations, Distribution House International was rewarded with the “Partner of the Year” Award.

“Vodafone’s on-going success story would not have been possible without the hard work of all our partners,” added John Tombleson. “The event was held to show our appreciation for everyone involved in Vodafone’s development, and to simply say ‘thank you.’”
