A world-leading psychiatrist is to host a live question and answer session on the Sahtak Awalan Facebook page at 1pm on Wednesday 29 April to help people concerned about mental health and anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Javaid I. Sheikh, dean of Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar (WCM-Q), will host the discussion at to address any issue or questions that members of the public may have about caring for their mental health while social distancing. He can also give advice on the importance of maintaining relationships while in isolation and discuss mechanisms for coping, like forming daily routines and setting schedules and goals.

Dr. Sheikh is a world-renowned expert on anxiety disorders and prior to joining WCM-Q in 2007, he had a distinguished career as a professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences, and was associate dean for the medical staff and chairman of the Palo Alto Institute for Research and Education at Stanford University School of Medicine, and the Veterans Administration Alto Health Care System in the US.
