Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar (VCUQatar) will be hosting the opening reception for ‘Zineb Sedira: Now you see me - now you see me’ at VCUQatar’s Gallery on Wednesday, November 9 at 6pm. The artist will be in attendance.

It will be followed by an artist’s talk at VCUQatar’s Atrium on Thursday, November 10 at 12:15pm. Both events are free and open to the public. The exhibition will run from November 9 to December 10 at VCUQatar’s Gallery. Zineb Sedira is a London-based multimedia artist, born in Paris to Algerian parents. Her work deals closely with questions of mobility and memory.

This solo show of recent works includes both the multi-channel video installation “Gardiennes d’image (Image Keepers)” (2010), focusing on the archive of Algerian photographer Mohammed Kouaci, as well as selected works from her recent series on the routes and origins of sugar. This exhibition is curated by Holiday Powers, assistant professor at VCUQatar. VCUQatar’s Gallery is open from Saturday to Thursday, from 9am to 5pm. The gallery is closed on Fridays. A special thanks to SAM Art Projects, kamel mennour Paris/London, and The Third Line Gallery, Dubai.
