The 7th Forum for the Future ministerial meeting between the G-8 and BMENA concluded in Doha this afternoon.

Addressing the closing session of the Forum, HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud expressed hope that the State of Kuwait and France, presidency of the next Forum, would not face such problems that we faced in this Forum so that we could reach a consensus that reflects our vision for the desired positive and practical future. HE the Minister Al Mahmoud added that "We in Qatar as partners were looking forward that a statement to be issued at the required level expected from us to achieve the desired prosperous future in security, stability and justice. He stressed that the State of Qatar was pleased to host the 7th Forum for the Future of the G-8 and the Broader Middle East and North Africa (BMENA), adding that both Qatar and Canada have made considerable efforts in order to arrange the preparatory work of the Forum.

"The cooperation in the forum was successful and the outcome of the past two days works were important despite the lack of a joint statement ", HE the Minister said.

HE the Minister highly valued the individual and joint cooperation at the level of governments or civil society organizations and the private sector. HE the Minister extended thanks to the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, and Canada, for coordination and preparation, and to all those who contributed to the success of the Forum.
