ACS Doha International School is pleased to announce the successful opening of its new Grade 10 year group, for students aged 15-16. The additional classes represent sustained growth in the High School, and plans for opening Grades 11 and 12 over the next two years are part of the school's directive to provide a comprehensive PK-12 educational offering by 2015.

ACS Doha’s expansion signifies the strong demand for high quality international schooling in Doha and represents a commitment to providing excellent education opportunities for children in Qatar.

The 2013/14 academic year is promising to be an exciting chapter at ACS Doha International School; in its third year in Doha, the school has now close to 900 students from 45 different nationalities, with over 271 new students and over 100 new families across all grades.

“I would like to thank all ACS Doha staff, students and families who are helping us build a wonderful and diverse international school community. As our school flourishes we are seeing exceptional enrollment growth, with grades Pre-K to Grade 5 now completely full, and only very limited space available in other grades.” said Diane Hren, Head of ACS Doha International School. “The demand we are seeing is a fantastic endorsement of our academic and co-curricular programmes, and the quality of education we provide.”

This year the school also welcomed 24 new teachers, teaching assistants and staff, most of whom are joining in the Middle and High School divisions to support the recent expansion. During the academic year 2013-2014, the school will be offering Middle and High School students electives that include Islamic studies, Digital Media, Languages and many more.

ACS Doha will continue to work in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 by providing the highest quality international education in Qatar to ensure future generations are equipped to succeed in their future beyond the classroom, in higher education, work and citizenship.

The school’s ongoing development is built on ACS International schools’ 45 years of experience successfully delivering rigorous American and International education programmes to local and expat families. Last year ACS’s international schools in the UK achieved outstanding International Baccalaureate Diploma results, with 151 students achieving a points average of 33 (equivalent to over 3 A* grades at A-level); significantly higher than the worldwide average of 29.7 points. In addition, 140 ACS Cobham and ACS Hillingdon students took Advanced Placement (AP) courses, with 75% achieving grade 3 or higher. Graduating students have been accepted at many of the leading universities in the US and UK.

“We are keen to bring the philosophy and approach of our established UK schools to the Doha campus and combining them with a programme that integrates the local traditions, culture and history of Qatar,” added Diane.
