As Eid Al Fitr festivities continue, Souq Waqif has become a hub of celebration for lovers of typical Arabian music and songs as renowned artistes from the region captivate Doha residents and visitors.

Hundreds of music aficionados not only from Qatar but also from the neighbouring countries are thronging Al Rayyan Theatre at Souq Waqif to enjoy old and new Arab music by top performers from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Iraq and Yemen.

On Friday, Iraq's celebrated artist Majid al Mohandes entertained fans with hit songs from various genres. With a lively back up team, Mohandes thrilled the audience the best way he knew how. Cheers and applauds filled the theatre which was full to capacity as the fans appreciated the performance.

The same spirit continued on Saturday as Yemeni artistes Hisham Mahrous, Fouad al Kubaisi and Kuwaiti Salman al Mariy mounted the stage to perform favourite hits. Organised by Al Rayyan Radio in partnership with Qatar Tourism Authority, the musical festival will continue to enthral residents everyday from 9pm till midnight. 

Tonight (Sunday), Saudi Arabia's artistes Hussein al Ali and Jaber al Kaser are expected to perform. In the coming days, Saudi Arabia's Waad, Kuwaiti Faisal al Rashid, Qatari Issa al Kubaisi and Bahraini Hend Bahrain as well as Omani Salah and Iraqi Walid al Shami will continue to entertain the audience.

Speaking to Qatar Tribune, one of the organisers from Al Rayyan Radio, Ahmad Mohammed said, "We organise this music festival three times every year during Eid Al Fitr, Eid Al Adha and Al Rabiya. We are happy to bring this festival to Qatar residents."
