On the occasion of the arrival of Fath Al Khair 4 in Athens, the capital of Greece, recently, a big official reception was organised with the attendance of the General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation ‘Katara’ Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al Sulaiti, Ambassador of Qatar to Greece HE Abdulaziz bin Ali al Naama and several Greek ministers. 

The Greek ministers who attended the reception included Minister for Development and Investment Spyridon-Adonis Georgiadis, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy and Openness Kostas Fragogiannis, Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports Lefteris Avgenakis, and Deputy Agricultural Development and Food Minister Fotini Arabatzi. Besides, Prince Nikolaos and a large number of Arab and foreign ambassadors and diplomats accredited to the Republic of Greece attended the reception. In his speech on the occasion, Sulaiti thanked the Greek Government for all the facilities provided to ensure the smooth journey of Fath Al Khair. He also thanked the embassy of the State of Qatar in Greece for their continued support.

Sulaiti said the fourth edition of Fath Al Khair was launched to spread the message of love and peace from Qatar to the world and also to introduce Qatar’s maritime heritage and to promote the World Cup 2022. For his part, Ambassador of Qatar to Greece HE Abdulaziz bin Ali al Naama also thanked the Greek government for all their support to make the trip a success. The Greek ministers welcomed the attendees and reviewed the strong relations between Qatar and Greece, pointing out that Greece is a country with an old civilisation.

Meanwhile, the officials also toured the vessel and learned about its various parts, as well as oysters and pearling. The celebration included presentation of folk songs and songs presented by a Greek band to welcome the arrival of Fath Al Khair.
At the end of the ceremony, Sulaiti presented souvenirs to the distinguished guests.
