Total deposits and credit grew 0.6 percent and 2.3 percent respectively in November, compared to October 2019, according the 71th issue of Qatar Monthly Statistics bulletin, released yesterday by The Planning and Statistics Authority.

The year-on-year growth in deposits and credit was 4.6 percent and 9.1 percent respectively in November 2019, compared to November 2018. The demographic statistics showed that the total population of Qatar has increased from 2.76 million during November 2018 to 2.77 million at end of November 2019.

A total of 608 traffic cases were recorded during November 2019, showing a monthly increase of 1.5 percent. Light injuries are accounted for the vast majority of traffic accidents during the same month, with 88 percent, followed by severe injuries by 10 percent. However, 13 deaths were recorded, equivalent to only 2 percent of total traffic accidents. The total number of registered new vehicles during November 2019 reached 5690 new vehicles. The figure showed a monthly decrease of 13.2 percent and an annual increase of 3.5 percent. 

A total of 2117 live births were registered during November 2019 while 201 deaths were recorded during the same period, showing an increase of 15.5 percent compared to October 2019.  Decline of 6.7 percent and 27.9 percent was witnessed in marriage contracts and divorce certificates during the month. The total number of marriage contracts was 292 contracts, whereas the total No. of divorces reached 111 divorce cases. Social Security statements, reached QR88m in November 2019, for 15689 beneficiaries.Total electricity consumption during November 2019 was 3248.0 GWh attaining a monthly decrease of 31.8 percent and an annual rise of 30.2 percent. 

Total water consumption reached 54373500 m3 during the same month attaining a monthly increase of 33.2 percent and an annual rise of 56.4 percent.  The data of buildings permits issued, the total number of permits has reached 673 permits during November 2019, recording a monthly decrease of 29.5 percent. Total Broad Money Supply (M2) recorded about QR563.4bn during November 2019, an annual decrease of 0.2 percent compared with November 2018. On the other hand, cash equivalents; including Commercial Bank Deposits, attained for QR830.5bn during November 2019. The figure has recorded an annual increase of 4.6 percent compared to November 2018, when deposits recorded approximately QR794.1bn.
