Barwa Real Estate will partner with Injaz Qatar from this year, as part of its fifth-anniversary activities, a spokesperson said yesterday.

Through the partnership, Barwa will be sponsoring Injaz programmes, while staff will join a growing body of volunteers who teach Injaz courses to secondary school and university students, the official said.

Barwa Group CEO Yousif al-Khater said: “Barwa’s sponsorship of Injaz reflects its strong commitment to Qatar’s National Vision 2030 that puts human capital and its development through education at the heart of everything that the country is trying to achieve.

“The partnership also adds a great value to Barwa’s various corporate social responsibility initiatives and programmes. By encouraging more Qataris into the private sector through Injaz’s courses on financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness, Barwa will help students to develop the skills to become the leaders of tomorrow,” al-Khater added.

The sponsorship offers financial support and the chance for corporate volunteers from Barwa and its subsidiaries to get involved. Employees who wish to contribute, will attend a one-day Injaz training course before participating.

Injaz Qatar chairperson Sheikha Hanadi bint Nasser al-Thani said: “We welcome Barwa’s sponsorship and involvement in Injaz’s courses. Injaz invests in youth’s future to develop tomorrow’s entrepreneurs and tomorrow’s citizens.”
Barwa’s contribution will also help sponsor the ‘National Student Company Competition’ to select the best ‘Student Company of the Year’, an outcome of Injaz’s Company Programme.

The company’s support will also help reach 1,500 students during 2011 through the series of Injaz’s work-readiness courses.
