Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Center), a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, held a new workshop titled, “How to Hire Employees” to give entrepreneurs and business owners  a better understanding about Qatari labor laws, sub-contracting employees and due diligence.

The workshop comes at the time when business owners and entrepreneurs are in search of needed talents to hire for their projects especially the low income ones, and highlighted issues related to sub contracted employees. The workshop focused on the sub-employment dependencies and enlightened business owners on how to attract the needed talents and skills through known methods and channels. The workshop discussed ways and means to decrease dependence on external sources like manpower supply agencies or subcontractors who might exploit employees to pay fees for employment in their home countries before coming to the local market.

Today’s workshop is aimed to highlight the measures that must be taken by business owners wishing to hire employments for their projects, be it commercial or home based project”. “Today we see many small and medium-sized enterprises that require employees for their projects being on site or home based. All members of the business community must be familiar with the laws and legislations established by the state to safeguard the rights of both parties, especially the rights of employees.”
