Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Center), a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, in collaboration with Qatar Scientific Club, has launched a new initiative,“From alpha to beta.” The week-long  event consists of diverse workshops teaching and educating attendees above 18 years old on how to create and produce Prototypes through the fabrication labs existing at the Qatar Scientific Club (QSC).

On the first day of the workshop the attendees were given a guided tour of the QSC, during which the club's sections were identified and introduced to them. The attendees also had the opportunity to talk to all the instructors responsible on those sections and specialized in different sectors. On the following days and for nominal prices for each workshop, the participants were able to learn how to design, create and produce products during workshops focusing on 3D design, how to use machinery, Laser machines, 3D printing machines as well cutting plotter machines and axial cutting machines.

Mr. Hareb Al-Jabri, Executive Director of Qatar Scientific Club said,” This is the first time we have hosted such an event with Bedaya Center. Since our inception, we have strived to support the youth and young inventors by providing tools and opportunities for them to be able to implement their ideas and achieve them on the ground. Today, through our collaboration with BedayaCenter and through the Prototype Week, which was highly appreciated by all participants, we have moved inched forward towards  this goal . I am confident that this event will be the first step of effective cooperation with Bedaya Center.”
