Carnegie Mellon University was ranked 25 on the “Best National Universities” list in the recently released U.S. News & World Report’s 2015 Best College Rankings. The 2015 edition of Best Colleges includes data on nearly 1,800 schools nationwide to help parents and students evaluate their options. Of those, 280 are considered National Universities, which emphasize faculty research and offer a full range of undergraduate majors, plus master's and Ph.D. programs.

Carnegie Mellon ranked number 8 for the “Best Undergraduate Business Programs” list, number 2 in “Management Information Systems” and number 1 for “Graduate Schools in Computer Science,” reflecting the university’s high quality programs and award-winning faculty. University rankings have proven to be a useful resource, guiding prospective students through the university selection process. A survey conducted by Carnegie Mellon Qatar amongst incoming students in early 2014, revealed the university’s ranking and reputation as a top factor impacting the university selection process. Programs offered and job opportunities were also cited as important factors for prospective students from Qatar.
