Cathay Pacific Airways is all set to move forward into the second year of the Doha-Hong Kong service and offer a whole new travel experience to customers as it celebrated the remarkable response and success it garnered throughout its first year of operations from Qatar.

Serviced by an Airbus A330-300 aircraft with a three-class configuration that includes the award-winning Business Class, Premium Economy Class and long-haul Economy Class, Cathay Pacific Airways initially launched the daily Doha-Hong Kong service on 30 March 2014 following the announcement of a strategic agreement with oneworld alliance partner Qatar Airways. Since then, passenger figures have continuously grown on the Doha-Hong Kong route, which have significantly contributed to the strong overall performance of Hong Kong’s home airline.

Additionally, in conjunction with the first year anniversary celebrations of the Doha-Hong Kong route, Cathay Pacific is launching a special promotion that includes a 50% discount for Business Class passengers flying to select destinations such as China, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, North America and Malaysia. This promotion is available during the sales period of 5 April to 30 April 2015, and travel must be undertaken from 10 April to 31 October 2015.

At the celebrations attended by officials from Cathay Pacific, Trans-Orient Group and Qatar Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways Manager for Qatar, Nick Brooks said: “A year ago, Cathay Pacific Airways decided to further expand its reach in this region and fly in and out of Doha in Qatar. As one the world’s fastest growing economies, there is indeed cause for celebration as our daily flights received a tremendously positive reaction from this market in only our first year of operations.

“Thus, as we enter our second year, our commitment to customers in Doha shall include the constant enhancement of our products and services and the continuous delivery of nothing but the finest customer travel experience they truly deserve,” he added. “With the launch of Cathay Pacific Airways’ ‘Life Well Travelled’ campaign as well as our refreshed branding design, which is all about a customer experience that is more enjoyable, simple and relevant to what passengers aspire for today, I am confident that our Doha-Hong Kong service will continue to grow its customer base and enjoy an even greater response in the years to come.”

The ‘Life Well Travelled’ campaign focuses on making every trip on board Cathay Pacific a moment of inspiring, uncomplicated enjoyment and well-being. Its core essence is to enable passengers to travel well through investments in new products, service ethos, personal recognition of passengers, network, design standards and ongoing efforts to become a full travel services provider. Perfectly complementing this campaign is Cathay Pacific’s refreshed branding design, which includes an updated, cleaner and more refined Cathay Pacific logo; a new, easier-to-use website; new lounges embracing the new design concept; and new company-wide signage.

For his part, Ehab Abdel Fattah Amin, Senior Vice President, Commercial of Qatar Airways commented: “We congratulate our oneworld alliance partner Cathay Pacific Airways for the highly successful first year of their Doha-Hong Kong service. Indeed, our strategic partnership has provided the market with unparalleled synergies of our strengths and unmatched service delivery that includes greater benefits for loyal customers. We wish Cathay Pacific Airways all the best and look forward to continue working with them in bringing the best travel experience to customers on the Doha-Hong Kong route.”

Under a strategic agreement with oneworld alliance partner Qatar Airways, customers of both airlines have more opportunities to earn and redeem frequent flyer points or miles, with top-tier members from Cathay Pacific’s The Marco Polo Club and Qatar Airways’ The Privilege Club enjoying reciprocal benefits for passengers travelling between Doha and Hong Kong. These include lounge access, extra baggage allowances, priority boarding and many other priority services.

For the added comfort and convenience of Doha customers, a specific Cathay Pacific website is now ready and open for ticketing sale.
