Excitement is building for the new Cirque du Soleil show “Dralion”. As opening night quickly approaches on September 19th, audiences and families are quickly scooping up tickets. To meet public demand, Cirque du Soleil has released six additional performances between September 26th and 28th.

“With the return of everyone to Doha, ticket requests have skyrocketed. This is no surprise as last year’s Cirque du Soleil performance completely sold out” stressed Nick Grana: General Manager of SDI Marketing, the event organizer.

Performances on Friday/Saturday, September 27th and 28th, will occur at 4:00pm and 7:30pm, as compared to the opening weekend times 6:00pm and 9:30pm. “Some people prefer late shows, and families have requested earlier times” said Grana. “Cirque du Soleil wants to offer opportunities for all in Doha to see this breathtaking performance.

“Dralion”, which is upbeat, energetic and incredibly bright, fuses the 3,000-year-old tradition of Chinese acrobatic arts with the signature multidisciplinary approach of Cirque du Soleil, while drawing inspiration from Eastern philosophies on harmony between humans and nature. The name itself represents the dragon from the East and the lion from the West.

“Dralion” Premiered in Canada in 1999 at a big-top tent since then has been   adapted into and arena show.
