College of the North Atlantic - Qatar (CNA-Q) and the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) signed yesterday a Memorandum of Understanding to advance the mandate of each, while helping to further enhance the State’s reputation as a leader of world-class sporting events.

QOC Secretary General, HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, and CNA-Q president Dr Ken MacLeod were the signatories. Sheikh Saoud said: “We hope to increase the co-operation and the exchange of experiences and training courses for Qatari students.” With a staff of over 500 faculty and staff, CNA-Q is uniquely positioned to provide training and education leadership, expertise, and programming required by the QOC, stated Dr MacLeod.

“In our early discussions, we have identified that we can work with QOC and the Qatar Olympic Academy in achieving training outcomes in areas such as leadership, management, and English language training,” he explained. “We are also encouraged by the discussions about new programming in Sport marketing, events and project management, and strategic communications. We are particularly excited about the programming side, as we think these programmes will not only help QOC and QOA achieve their goals, but they will also provide tremendous career options for Qatari Nationals. We look forward to having these students on our campus in the not too distant future.”
