After  Qatar won the right to host the FIFA World Cup 2022, CNN visited the country to record the passion of this nation towards football. This passion was exhibited at its best at the ASPIRE Academy for Sports Excellence.

Emerging from the desert, ASPIRE Academy for Sports Excellence opens its doors for young talents, from Qatar and beyond, to practice football and develop their potential. Since its establishment in 2004,graduate athletes  achieved success on numerous sporting fields.

With a large emphasis on football development,ASPIRE developed a special program called ASPIRE Football Dreams which is a unique and fascinating humanitarian project conducted in developing countries across three continents with the aim to identify the future talents of World football.

The program gives the opportunity to young football players from developing countries to reach the height of international football through careful training and development, while focusing on school education and personality development at the same time.

The young talents will be prepared on how to manage their lives successfully, as well as to play for professional football clubs and, hopefully, their respective national teams in the future.

ASPIRE cooperates closely with the national football associations of the youngsters involved.

The program is already making milestone contributions to international football. Graduate John Benson was part of Ghana’s FIFA  U-20 World Cup winning team, and another player was in the Nigerian squad who were runners-ups in the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
