Qatar Petroleum (QP) on Thursday unveiled its new corporate vision in a special ceremony held under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani.

HE Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada announced the new vision statement, which sets QP's future direction and envisions it to be "a world class oil and gas corporation, with its roots in Qatar, and a strong international presence."

Addressing the vision launch event, HE Dr. Al-Sada said: "This vision is a new starting point an a beacon on the road to achieving our strategic objectives; a clear future vision that sums up our inspirations and ambitions as a Qatari corporation, deepens commitment and the sense of belonging amongst our human resources, and consolidates our position amongst our clients."

The minister stressed the significance of QP's new vision as a major tributary contributing to the achievement of Qatar's comprehensive vision as set and guided by HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

HE Dr. Al-Sada stressed QP's commitment to provide all elements of success and progress in achieving the country's comprehensive vision for sustainable development in the economic, social, human and environmental fields."We in Qatar Petroleum are determined to provide all elements of success and progress for our beloved country, and will exert all efforts to support building our establishments, and to provide an incubating environment for sustainable economic development, while supporting human resources development for the people of Qatar in education, training and employment," HE Dr. Al-Sada said, adding: "This is QP's commitment."

On the sidelines of the ceremony, HE Dr. Al-Sada said QP has played a significant role over the past two decades in supporting Qatar's growth and progress. He stressed that the firm will continue this role through supporting institution building, and providing an incubator environment for sustainable economic development, while supporting human resources development for the people of Qatar in education, training and employment.

"We are contributing to the future of our country through hard work and sound planning, thus ensuring the welfare of the this generation as well as the generations to come. We take pride in the fact that the new vision sums up our ambitions to be a world class corporation in all our operations and on all levels of operational, administrative and product excellence. This requires more attention to all aspects of our operations and performance related to health, safety and the environment.

"Our pride stems from the fact that we are a Qatari corporation, with deep roots in this blessed country which does not only reflect heritage, strength and stability, but also represents the wealth that God has blessed this county with," HE the minister added.

He emphasized the importance of the third part of the new vision summarizing QP's pursuit to enhance its presence worldwide, saying: "We, as an oil and gas company and through our subsidiaries and joint ventures, deliver a wide range of energy products all over the world, creating a strong presence, new opportunities, strategic relations, and valuable partnerships which bring benefits to our country."
