H.E. The Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani, visited on Saturday 21 July the Roads & Infrastructure Project for Citizens’ Sub-divisions in Al-Foroush and Al-Kharaitiyat, implemented by the Public Works Authority, in order to review the progress of the project. The visit was attended by H.E. Dr. Eng. Saad bin Ahmad Al-Muhannadi, President of Ashghal, Eng. Saoud Al-Tamimi, Manager of Ashghal’s Roads Project Department, and project managers from Ashghal.

During the visit, H.E. The Prime Minister & Minister of Interior stressed the importance of completing projects that serve the residential areas and citizens’ sub-divisions in all parts of the country, and opening them as per schedule and according to the required quality. H.E. Ashghal President commented: “H.E. The Prime Minister’s visit to the infrastructure project in Al-Foroush and Al-Kharaitiyat reflects His Excellency’s keenness to closely follow-up the progress of implementation in projects that affect citizens directly.”

Ashghal completed about 40% of the Roads & Infrastructure Project for Citizens’ Sub-divisions in Al-Foroush and Al-Kharaitiyat, which will provide a safe roads network, drainage networks, drinking water, electricity and communications networks, among other services. The project is expected to be completed in Q2, 2019. The Public Works Authority has developed a plan to implement the roads and infrastructure for 10,400 plots in new citizens’ sub-divisions, 1,819 of which were served during 2017. Four projects are being implemented for citizens' sub-divisions to serve 5,540 land plots, of which 1,637 will be delivered this year in the areas of Al-Foroush and Al-Kharaitiyat, Al-Nasiriyah North, Rawdat Egdaim and Ezghawa, and Al-Wukair South.

Ashghal is working on completing the roads and infrastructure in existing areas to serve 5,644 land plots in 2018 within Al-Shamal City, Bani Hajer and Muaither. 15 projects will be awarded this year to serve 15,021 plots in Al-Maarad, Muaither, Al-Kharaitiyat, Al-Ebb, Leabib, Duhail, Al-Mashaf South, and Abu Hamour.
