International Bank of Qatar (ibq) sponsored the 10th ibq Masters Cricket Tournament in Doha, organized by the Qatar Veteran Cricket League. The tournament brings together local teams, including professional players and cricket enthusiasts from Qatar-based public and private companies each year from January to March.

Meanwhile, M.I. Farid, the Qatar Veteran Cricket League Organizer, added: “We are grateful to ibq for sponsoring the ibq Masters Cricket Tournament for the 10th year running, as it brings together local cricket enthusiasts in the business community and gives them the opportunity to play competitive cricket. It also allows them to play in teams in a tournament that has gained a reputation over the years as the event in the cricketing calendar in Doha.”

This year’s ibq Masters Cricket Tournament will include a total number of 37 teams: 17 teams in Division I and 20 teams in Division II. ibq has been supporting Sports initiatives in Qatar for many years as an important pillar of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy. This includes National Sports Day held every year in February, in addition to a range of different sports tournaments. Promoting a healthy lifestyle and encouraging the next generation to practice sport.

ibq’s CSR track record also extends to supporting a wide range of other worthwhile community activities, such as: education, health and philanthropic initiatives, culture arts etc.
