The 1st Green Building Solutions Conference & Exhibition Doha 2011 (GBS 2011) has confirmed that Italian firms will occupy the largest space so far booked for 2nd to 4th March event at the Doha Exhibition Center.

More than Seven Italian sustainable development companies are set to participate in the GBS 2011 Italian Pavilion: Gattoni (MADE IN WOOD), Power BioBuilding Engineering SRL (water recycling-electrical solar panel-electrical system), SPAZIO BIO (supplier of  Bio materials for construction - wood-plasters-painting-water recycling systems), Bioleben Eco Architetture (construction of Bio Houses), Mengucci Costruzioni (construction of Bio Houses), CTA Consorzio Tecnico Adriatico and Stemar swimming pools.

“In March, during the GBS 2011 exhibition, the Qatari construction industry will have a unique opportunity to discover the latest European ‘green building’ products, all offering energy conservation, emission reductions and ecological construction,” says Karim Zarka, CEO of organizer Qatar Expo.

Under the Patronage of HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, GBS 2011 is organized by the Barwa and Qatari Diar Research Institute (BQDRI) in partnership with Qatar Expo Event Management and Grey Doha, and is supported by The Supreme Council for the Environment and Qatar’s visionary pioneers of the built environment, BARWA and Qatari Diar.

The GBS 2011 Exhibition is on target to put sustainable development at the forefront of Qatar’s future construction plans. More than 100 local and international companies will be displaying green building products and services, water & waste management technology, environmental measuring systems, noise and air pollution, safety, security & disaster prevention equipment at the 7500 m2 Doha Exhibition Center arena.

Representatives from Qatar’s construction industry visiting the GBS 2011 exhibition will discover thousands of environmentally sustainable building solutions constructed from materials with low environmental impact to guarantee energy efficiency. In addition, GBS 2011 exhibitors will be offering advanced solutions for the production of energy from renewable sources, such as solar heating and cooling, low energy geothermal, wind and Hydro electric to minimize energy requirements and reduce CO2 emissions into the environment.

The presence of Italian eco manufacturers at GBS 2011 is the latest collaboration between the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Pesaro, Italy and Qatar Expo Event Management.

“The participation of Italian companies at GBS 2011 is a significant achievement for Qatar’s first sustainable development event and proof that major eco-friendly companies view Qatar as the region’s leading ‘green’ economy,” adds Karim Zarka.
