Director Zaid Abu Hamdan’s film project Daughters of Adbulrahman has been selected for the CineGouna Platform, held within the 3rd El Gouna Film Festival (September 19-27), where the winning projects will receive funding awards. Last year, the CineGouna Platform presented monetary awards with a total of $175,000 during the 2nd edition of the festival.

The CineGouna Platform aims to showcase a wide variety of films for a passionate and knowledgeable audience; while fostering better communication between cultures through the art of filmmaking. Its goal is to connect filmmakers from the region with their international counterparts in the spirit of cooperation and cultural exchange. The festival is committed to the discovery of new voices and strives to be a catalyst for the development of cinema in the Arab world, particularly through its industry segment, CineGouna Platform.

Daughters of Adbulrahman received grants from the Doha Film Institute, Tribeca Film Institute, and the Jordan Film Fund (JFF) (Production Category) offered by The Royal Film Commission Jordan - RFC. Daughters of Adbulrahman is a dark comedy that tells the story of four estranged and offbeat sisters who are forced to come together to find their suddenly-missing father. Directed and written by Zaid Abu Hamdan, the film stars Saba Mubarak, who is also the executive producer, Farah Bsaiso, and Dana Dajani. Daughters of Adbulrahman is coproduced by Pan East Media, Lagoonie Film Production, MAD Solutions, Arab Media Network, and iProductions. The film is distributed in the Arab world by MAD Solutions and Film Clinic Indie Distribution.
