As curtains came down on Katara Eid festival Friday, visitors lauded the Cultural Village Foundation, Katara, for the excellent organisation of the diverse programme for the four-day festival.

During the Eid holidays, Katara witnessed an outstanding turnout by visitors who enjoyed the variety of shows and fun activities. Visitors stressed that Katara was their preferred destination to enjoy the Eid with their children. Despite the fact that many of the activities were outdoor and the slightly hot weather, they said they enjoyed their time with their children.

Many of the visitors flocked to the Al Thuraya Planetarium which screened the film “Dawn of the Space Age” that reflected showed the space race during the Cold War, the first landing on the moon and space expeditions in an interesting way. Some parents said they had visited Katara twice during Eid to catch up with all the ongoing activities while some had seen the Al Thuraya Planetarium for the first time which was an amazing experience, especially for their children. Shafeeq Abdulaleem, one of the parents, said he had enjoyed a host of entertainment and educational spots with his two children all for free, praising the Katara management for their excellent organising and well-planned Eid festival. 

Another parent, Abdelasalam Mohammed expressed his great happiness for spending his Eid holiday at Katara with his family. He said: “I follow Katara on social media platforms and I got to know its diversified schedule of different activities and events during Eid which convinced us to enjoy our time here. It was great fun for all of us”. Salem Al Merri, Head of Public Relations Department at Katara said Katara is satisfied with this achievement and the big turnout by people which reflects the success of the Eid festival programme they had planned for.
