On May 8, 2013, Mada (Qatar Assistive Technology Center) will join people around the world to celebrate World Accessibility Awareness Day. Every year, web designers, developers and users come together to discuss latest trends and best practices in the field of e-accessibility. By raising awareness about accessible design and usability, an increasing number of digital platforms, including websites and apps are being designed with users of different needs and abilities in mind.

Join Mada on Wednesday May 8, 2013 between 6pm and 8pm for its first “e-Accessibility Majlis” taking place on the 7th floor of the ictQatar building in Doha, Qatar. Come listen to the successes and challenges of working towards building accessible websites, apps, and other digital platforms in Qatar. Join in the conversation by sharing your experiences and asking questions about this emerging field of digital development.

Users with disabilities, designers and content managers will come together for an interactive and informative night to learn about e-Accessibility, and how it is a way of thinking that is growing in Qatar, and throughout the region. To register, please sign up, for free, at: http://mada.eventbrite.com.

The venue is Wheelchair accessible, with plenty of parking available. Light refreshments will be served.

If you are interested in participating or presenting at the meet-up, please contact Mike Park, senior e-Accessibility specialist, at mpark@mada.org.qa
