Qatar’s largest offshore oilfield operator Maersk Oil Qatar (MOQ) is proud to sponsor and participate in the upcoming 5th Gulf Intelligence Doha Energy Forum (DEF) 2015 and the 1st Women in Energy Summit next week, held under the patronage of His Excellency Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah.

More than 100 executives from Qatar’s oil and gas sector are expected to attend the event on 10-11 March, which seeks to address the latest industry trends and challenges and their potential impact on Qatar. Hot topics the forum will focus on include the role of international companies in local capacity building and of women in energy, both of which Maersk Oil will lead discussions on.

Sheikh Faisal Bin Fahad Al-Thani, Deputy Managing Director, MOQ said, “Maersk Oil is pleased be contributing to the dialogue on how to sustain this nation’s energy and prosperity for the long-term - a responsibility we take very seriously as the producer of over one third of this country’s oil. Since beginning operations in Qatar over two decades ago we have made great strides in tacking some of the issues to be discussed in the forum, and we look forward to sharing ideas and best practices to try to overcome them as an industry in the future.”

We are pleased to have the partnership of Maersk Oil Qatar in driving forward these conversations, with a view to producing tangible results for Qatar’s energy industry.
