HE Minister of Economy and Finance Youssuf Hussein Kamal will inaugurate today the fifth edition of MultaQa Qatar in Al Sharq Village.

The forum will be held on the 14th and the 15th of this month and will offer a platform for notable insurance and risk management executives from across the globe to discuss the industry issues on a regional and a global scale.

MultaQa is sponsored by Gulf Reinsurance and is considered one of the leading events in the region for re-investment.

HE the Minister will kick-start the discussions when he talks about insurance in the Gulf countries in a lecture entitled "Economic and insurance industry fundamentals of the GCC: delivering the next phase of accelerated growth".

Picking up from the lecture, the speakers will discuss the main issues regarding re-investment in the region with some of the most notable companies in the field. Other talks will include the Key strategic opportunities and challenges in global re-insurance and Islamic insurance as well as a number of other lectures that are more specific to the Gulf countries such as taking Qatar as a case study in a number of important subjects.

Qatar is considered one of the strongest economies in the Middle-East if not the world with an 13.3% real Growth Domestic Product (Real GDP) which surpasses the growth of China which is recorded at 9%. The country also has the highest GDP per Capita in the world.

Attending MultQa Qatar is through invitations only, the forum is organized in association with The Institute of Risk Management , Chartered Insurance Institute and International Insurance Society.
