The Committee for Removal of Abandoned Vehicles in the Municipality of Municipality and Environment has urged owners of abandoned vehicles to get the status updated to avoid legal action. The appeal was made at a committee meeting held recently. 

The meeting was headed by Committee Chairman Brigadier Ali Salman. Others who attended the meeting included Vice Chairman Saleh al Kuwari and members of the committee Mohammed Faraj al Kubaisi and Marzouq Mubarak al Mesifari. During the meeting, the committee reviewed reports on the vehicle removal campaign in Doha and Al Shehaniya municipalities. The chairman of the committee directed members and officers to continue to remove neglected cars in order to protect environment and health, as well as Qatar’s landscape from distortion. They also discussed cooperation and coordination between the committee and the relevant state departments in this regard.

Meanwhile, Doha Municipality organised an event on the occasion of Eid Al Adha to honour employees and workers of the Public Parks Department for their efforts to clean and maintain hygiene at public parks. Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Abdullah Abbas, head of Public Parks Department of Doha Municipality, said that the honouring came in recognition of their efforts to maintain cleanliness and beauty at parks. He also thanked those in charge of the initiative to maintain cleanliness at public parks in Qatar. Meanwhile, the Municipality Control Department at Al-Khor and Al-Thakhira Municipality carried out 466 inspection raids on food facilities in preparation for Eid al-Adha recently. 

The raids were conducted on popular restaurants and bakeries. The ministry also conducted a campaign to remove abandoned vehicles as well as encroachments on state property.
