The Italian architectural firm - ONE WORKS announces that it has won the design of the Transportation Education Centre - an international competition held by Qatar Rail in Doha. 

Founded in 2011, Qatar Rail holds its mission to design, develop and maintain the entire Qatar railway network. The organization has awarded the designs of ONE WORKS to implement their vision of the new Doha Transportation Education Centre; and these designs have been developed on the basis of Qatar’s important history and knowhow. The country prides itself as a place that holds an ambitious program of integrated transit infrastructure and is a crucial element at the base of an economic, cultural and social growth for the entire Gulf region.

The purpose of the centre is to present Doha with a symbol – a building that represents the city’s extraordinary change that is being manifested throughout the country. The architectural design will combine Qatar’s past, present, and future and will tell the story of how its positioning itself as a dynamically connected  country within the GCC and globally.

Mohamed Timbely, Senior Director of Qatar Rail commented: "ONE WORKS has perfectly interpreted the spirit and the goal we set for ourselves from the competition's outset. The ONE WORKS architects developed a concept for the Transportation Education Centre that achieves a perfect synthesis of what Qatar Rail is developing for its country and its architectural and cultural legacy, making the new Transportation Education Centre a dynamic and integrated element."
