Last week, the President of the French football club Angers SCO, Said Chabane, visited Aspetar – the Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital. During the visit, he was given a comprehensive tour of the hospital’s facilities, and briefed about the services it provides to elite athletes globally.

Hospital officials presented an overview of the hospital’s history and the significant developments it has achieved in the fields of sports medicine and research and discussed future collaboration with the club, which currently competes in the premier French football league, Ligue 1. Mr. Said Chabane commented on the visit saying: “I have heard a lot about Aspetar, and I have always been curious to know more about the hospital. I learned quite a lot during today’s visit about its areas of expertise, the different services it offers to athletes pre, during or post competition, and the athlete screening processes available here.”

Angers SCO is an upcoming football club that has secured under Chabane’s leadership its spot in the premier French football league, Ligue 1, as it currently ranked third place. The club has experienced unprecedented success that began in 1957 when it reached the final match of the French cup against Toulouse FC, and continued in 1992 when the club achieved second place in the French League.
