ASTAD Chief Executive Officer, Engineer Ali Al-Khalifa stated that Qatar’s current restrictions on transportation from certain GCC countries has not affected ASTAD’s construction projects while speaking at a signing ceremony held at ASTAD’s headquarters in West Bay, Qatar.

ASTAD installed a banner at their headquarters of a mural of His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The signing ceremony was led by Al-Khalifa who signed the mural, expressing support and solidarity for His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the State of Qatar alongside all ASTAD employees. Al-Khalifa stated: “As a Qatari company, we are very proud today to show our solidarity for our nation and our Emir.” ASTAD manages and ensures the successful delivery of the vast construction projects underway in Qatar. One of the most anticipated projects the company is working on is the highly complex National Museum of Qatar which continues to make steady progress with the recent announcement that the inauguration of the museum will be in December 2018.

As a local company, Al-Khalifa affirmed that the current economic conditions are not delaying any of the projects ASTAD is currently working on in Qatar. “We have coordinated efforts on a national level with all stakeholders to find solutions and mitigate all risks. We have found many alternative sources at competitive prices and of a higher quality. All projects are going ahead as normal with alternative suppliers, sources and shipping routes in place.

We are proud to have been awarded 11 new projects this year and we remain committed to ensuring the timely delivery of projects throughout our journey towards the Qatar National Vision 2030,” said Al-Khalifa.
