The Qatar Charity's (QC) office in Somalia distributed sponsorship allowances of the first quarter of 2015 to 500 indigent families. This was from the total number of 10,000 people sponsored by QC in Somalia. Sponsored by QC, the relief distribution to the orphans, indigent families, people with disabilities, students, teachers, preachers and imams of mosques coincided with the holy month of Ramadan.

The Chargé d'affaires of Qatar's Embassy in Mogadishu HE Hassan bin Hamza attended one of the events. He appreciated QC's generous initiative, stressing that such an initiative was"commendable". Mohamed Hussain, the director of QC office in Somalia, said,"QC has left no stone unturned in its efforts to perform good deeds in all fields and seasons. It attaches considerable importance to the needy during such times and occasions. This drive highlights QC officials' interest to satisfy the needs of the Muslims and other humanitarian aspects in many countries."

The director of QC office in Somalia recommended all the sponsors and attendees to seize and invest during this generous occasion. This year's QC campaign entitled 'Ramadan Al Basma' is estimated to cost a total of QR58.2 million. This exceeds the costs of last year's campaign with QR14.6 million. The campaign is expected to benefit more than 2,043,000 people. QC's projects during the holy month are being implemented outside Qatar, across 40 countries worldwide.
