Under the patronage of Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, Qatar Museums Authority (QMA) hosted last night its special annual Ramadan Ghabga dinner at the Museum of Islamic Art in celebration of the holy month of Ramadan.

This event organized by QMA every year aims to celebrate Ramadan traditions and strengthen relations among employees belonging to different departments within QMA.

The gathering was attended by QMA CEO Mr Mansoor Al Khater, in addition to a number of top management employees and QMA staff. Mr. Mansoor Al Khater opened the ceremony by welcoming all QMA staff and wishing them a pleasant evening. He also thanked Qatar Airways for generously sponsoring this year’s Ghabga dinner.

Mr Al Khater gave as well a presentation highlighting QMA’s achievements and future plans while encouraging employees to be creative, innovative and open to new ideas, and assist in implementing QMA’s vision and mission.

QMA employees were pleased to meet and converse with their colleagues during a pleasant evening celebrating the spirit of the Holy month of Ramadan. A raffle was held and a number of attendees received valuable gifts.

The Ghabga is considered a tradition of the holy month of Ramadan in the Gulf countries where people started celebrating it at the beginning of the 20th century. The Ghabga takes the form of a dinner and comes between Iftar (breaking fast) and Sohour (just before dawn).
