The State of Qatar, represented by a delegation headed by HE the Minister of Environment Ahmed bin Amir Al-Humaidi (pictured), participated in the High Level Ministerial Meeting on the climate change, which was concluded here on Friday.
During the two-day meeting, the ministers discussed topics related to the second commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol, which was adopted at the Climate Change Conference "COP18" in Doha in addition to the means to raise the level of ambition in the efforts of the States Parties to the period before 2020, and topics related to the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Durban Platform, which aims to raise global ambition for the period after 2020, and the preparation of a new agreement replacing the Kyoto agreement to be signed in Paris by the end of 2015.
