This year, Qatargas continues the role of educating the public on preventing accidents, while offering messages about the hazard of using cell phones while driving, which is one of the main reasons for the increase in road accidents. Qatargas Public Relations Manager Mansour Rashid al Naimi said, “Driven by our corporate social responsibility, we try to change people’s behaviour through dedicated and focused awareness programmes. The traffic week is really playing a vital role in establishing a solid safe driving culture. We will continue to give road safety our utmost attention until we see radical improvement taking place.”

The GCC Traffic Week has featured several interactive sessions and workshops led by experts in the fields of interpersonal and behavioural skills as well as a traffic village set up especially for children. The event is aimed at increasing road safety awareness and encouraging interactive participation of the public.
