Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) has launched periodic visits to cancer patients who National Center for Cancer Care and Research (NCCCR) in patients, in collaboration with Aura Entertainment Services and Palma Group.

The initiative aims to provide psychological and social support for cancer patients and provide positive impact to treatment. Omar Al- Twaissi – sponsorship and marketing at QCS, said: “This initiative emphasizes the charity’s keenness to play its role both psychologically and physically.” He pointed out that the visits emphasize the importance of psychological support for this group and help them overcome the stage of treatment with great patience and determination. “These visits aim to raise the community’s awareness of cancer and remove the fear and shame associated with it to emphasize that like any other disease, cancer can be cured,” He added.

He thanked Aura Entertainment Services and Palma Group for the gesture and hope that more partnerships with all State institutions will contribute to the deployment of community awareness of cancer and ways to prevent it.” Mr. Nabil Barakat, Managing Director for Aura Entertainment Services said, “We understand the impact cancer can have on a patient and on family life, for this reason, we partnered with Qatar Cancer Society to support patients   and their families by bringing a smile to their faces and providing them with hope and encouragement to cope with cancer.”

For her part, Dr. Tahani Saker, CEO of Palma Group emphasized the importance of such events and campaigns in helping children to resist disease and defeat it. She also added these gifts are the least that can be provided for children from psychological support rather than moral support which we must all contribute to it, she added: "I thank all those who are working to support such activities in every available way and their participation in all events for cancer patients and awareness events."
