Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Jordan-based Arab Insurance Institute (A.I.I.), which will facilitate close cooperation between the two parties in providing world-class insurance education and training services in Qatar.

Signed by QFBA’s CEO Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Horr (pictured) and A.I.I.’s CEO Mr. Husain Al Ajmi, the partnership will enhance the development of the manpower in the insurance sector as part of QFBA’s strategy to partner with renowned specialized institutes to develop the nation’s Human Capital, in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.

Commenting on the agreement, Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Horr, CEO of QFBA, said: “QFBA’s MoU with A.I.I merges with the Academy’s mission of building up a well-qualified human capital base that supports the financial sector in the country and the region, while bolstering its effective contribution to the realization of a knowledge-based economy under the umbrella of the Qatar National Vision 2030.”

He added: “On the industry level, this will raise the skills and knowledge of the human capital in the insurance industry, and will match the sector’s training qualifications with the evolving job market needs. On the national level, individuals and organizations in Qatar will get to benefit from a higher standard of services that better caters to their insurance needs. This MoU simply creates a win-win situation for all parties involved and opens up a whole world of opportunities in the industry.”

The MoU aims to catalyze the delivery of globally recognized insurance courses to the sector’s professionals in Qatar from leading international insurance organizations including the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK for general insurance), Life Office Management Association (USA for life insurance), America's Health Insurance Plans Insurance Education (USA for health insurance), and The Institutes (USA for risk management).

As part of the agreement, 20 programs have been identified to be offered in English and Arabic, the first of which is scheduled to run starting on the 19th of February 2017. The courses are set to prepare young national cadre candidates for the local insurance industry through up to year-long vocational programs that incorporate technical insurance and business skills learning, in association with the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs, thereby pushing forward the development of skills and knowledge in the progressive Qatari insurance market through the jointly-developed education and training solutions.

QFBA’s partnership with A.I.I is the latest addition to the Academy’s line-up of world-class courses and international certifications in the fields of business and finance. The Academy’s offering is designed to present enrollees with a unique opportunity to build on their strengths, while empowering them to reach new heights through effective education, influential inspiration and access to essential tools and resources.
