Qatar University College of Engineering (QU-CENG) Department of Architecture and Urban Planning (DAUP) announced at a press conference at QU that DAUP has officially received the accreditation of the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) for the first time and for six years.

QU- DAUP officially receives 2 [].jpgIn his inaugural address, CENG Acting Dean Prof Abdelmagid Hammuda said, “NAAB accreditation of CENG Architecture Program comes in line with the expansion of the number of college programs and students. NAAB Accreditation was achieved after CENG received last year the academic accreditation of seven of its programs from the Board of Accreditation of Engineering and Technology (ABET), the world leader in quality assurance and innovation in applied science, Engineering, for six years.” “Academic accreditation is one of the most important achievements of CENG through the concerted efforts of all CENG members in coordination with industrial partners to ensure that students get high education of international standards.” He concluded.

In his speech, DAUP head Dr. Fodil Fadli said, “Academic accreditation, which is one of the most important institutions of the international architectural education, is an important indicator of the quality of education provided by DAUP to support industry and community.” “NAAB enhances DAUP commitment to lift up department’s responsibility to preserve this distinguished educational level, in order to maintain the confidence of the public and private sectors, and the scientific research conducted by the DAUP members in cooperation with several local and international institutions.” He added.
