RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) is supporting the third Middle East Turbomachinery Symposium (METS - 3), which is being held during 16-18 February 2015 in Doha under the patronage of H.E.Dr Mohammed Bin Saleh AlSada, Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman of Qatar Petroleum.

RasGas is one of the major sponsors of this premier turbomachinery event in the Middle East, hosted by the Turbomachinery Laboratory (Turbo Lab) of the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) of Texas A&M University at Qatar.Previous editions of the biennial event have successfully attracted more than 1,000 attendees and 60 exhibiting companies representing up to 27 countries.RasGas also has a stallin this year’s exhibition, where 65 industry-leading companies are showcasing their latest services and equipment.

RasGas has supported this specialised technical event since its inception in 2011 as it isan international platform where technical professionals gather for networking and discussions. As a reliable world-class global energy supplier striving for excellence, RasGas has always been keen to acquire the latest knowledge on the technological developments in the oil and gas field. Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi, RasGas Chief Executive Officer, along with some of the members of the Executive Leadership team of RasGas will attend the symposium.

METS 2015 will also feature a world-class educational forum for turbomachinery engineers with a total of eight discussion groups, ten tutorials, 12 lectures, and 18 case studies on various topics such as liquefied natural gas (LNG), wet gas, vibration, gas turbines, surge, and cavitation. Technical sessions will also cover topics on maintenance, design, and troubleshooting as well as short case studies describing in-the-field problems and their real-world solutions.

The technical programme is developed and overseen by the METS Technical Advisory Committee, a group comprising engineers from both regional and international companies in the industry. DrDara Childs, Turbo Lab Director and Abdulaziz Al-Naimi, Manager (Joint Interest) in the Operations Group at RasGas serve as co-chairs of the committee.
