Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels (SWBH), represented by Taleb Al Henzab, SWBH General Manager, launched its “For A Purpose” exhibition yesterday at Al Jasra Boutique Hotel in Souq Waqif, in cooperation with Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) organisation. The exhibition, designed for owners of Small and Medium Enterprises to showcase their products, is organised by Evently and “Maqdeem & Nasser”. The proceedings of the exhibition will go to support ROTA’s initiative of building Gaza schools.

The launch ceremony was attended by representatives of the exhibition’s platinum sponsors, participating pavilions and the local media. Underlining SWBH’s continuous efforts to support life and philanthropic action, ‘For A Purpose’ witnessed a wide participation by leading Qatari institutions and young enterprise owners who were keen to put their products on display and contribute to supporting SWBH’s initiative to rebuild Gaza schools damaged by the latest Israeli aggression.

“It is heartwarming to see some of Qatar’s finest institutions and young, promising faces support our first CSR exhibition, through which we seek to accomplish the two-fold objective of contributing to ROTA’s rehabilitation of Gaza schools and helping Qatari entrepreneurs to exhibit their products”, said Taleb Al Henzab, SWBH General Manager. “Human Development is central pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030. Thus, we are doing our part to foster the Qatari younger generations by offering them the chance to unlock their potential and present their ideas, and providing the platform to introduce their products and advertise their institutions,” added Al Henzab.

SWBH launches For A Purpose exhibition 1 [].jpg“Being part and parcel of the Qatari society, this is the least we can do to stand by Gazans and the Palestinian people and support their vital educational system by rehabilitating the damaged schools to help children get back to study as soon as possible,” concluded Al Henzab. On his part, ROTA Executive Director Issa Al Mannai said: “I would like to express our deep gratitude to Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels for their generosity and endeavour to make a positive change in the lives of Gazans. ROTA has always been committed to support Gaza, particularly in the current circumstances. We all stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and are keen to make a difference in their lives.”

The participants in the exhibition pointed out that such events bolster the success and sustainability of the youth’s new projects and help lay the solid foundations for entrepreneurs to enhance their leadership skills, thus supporting the wider Qatari business community. ‘For A Purpose’ is sponsored by a group of notable companies and institutions led by the exhibition’s platinum sponsors including Al Rayyan Sports Club, Pick & Shake, Darz, Buono Chocolate and MJay Design.

“Established in 2009 and specialised in chocolate and flowers, Buono Chocolate is 100 percent a Qatari company,” said Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Ghorab Al Marri, representative of Lerida Group, owner of Buono Chocolate. “We started at Wathnan Mall and then opened our second branch in Umm Salal. Currently, we are stepping up the pace to open our new branch at Al Jasra Boutique Hotel, Souq Waqif, to reflect Qatari age-old originality mixed with a European flavour.”

SWBH launches For A Purpose exhibition 2 [].jpg“Our participation in SWBH’s ‘For A Purpose’ exhibition is dedicated to ROTA’s initiative and reaffirms our efforts to support Gaza both morally and financially,” added Al Marri. “It’s an honour to be part of SWBH’s exhibition which promotes the humanitarian initiatives championed by our beloved Qatar,” said Abdullah Faleh Al Saeed, owner of Pick & Shake.

“Milk shake is global project. However, while I was studying in the UK, I had the idea of adding local flavour to the project. It took me almost two years of research and experiments to come up with forty blends of milk shake based on the renowned chocolate bars. My ideas were very well received at Qatar International Food Festival earlier this year, which motivated me to participate in several other events across the country, especially charitable ones,” added Al Saeed, who also pointed out that he had been able to realise his dream of adding the local flavour to the international product. He introduced a selection of flavours last Ramadan and his milk shakes achieved huge success. Some of the flavours he added included dates, “Al Rahsh”, crème caramel, saffron, honey, cinnamon, peanuts, “Al Mahlabiyah” and rose syrup.
